ejensen 04-01-2012 08:39:00 67.183.217.224 Report to Moderator	Does anyone know the size of the nut that secures the fan drive pulley to the crankshaft on a 1948 TD 6? A punch and chisel will work but would rather have a socket. Have a 3/4 inch drive set and imagine the socket would be a deep socket. I want to install a larger front mounted hydraulic pump on the machine. Need to remove the pulley to make modifications to install the drive for the different pump. Machine is 100 miles away from where I live. Would like to take proper tools when I travel to work on the machine. [Reply]   [No Email]

I live in the State of Washington.County Line Equipment near Tacoma, has a TD 6 engine. I'll drive there and measure the crank nut on their engine. The other thing is that I've thought about measuring the nut several times during the last 40 years. Last time I took it off , probably 40 years ago, with a punch and cold chisel. Other thing is that I have a spare engine for the TD 6 sitting on my shop floor. It would have been very easy to measure it when I was there the last time. [Reply]  [No Email]
