I found a old cat but I don't know exactly what it is. It is in the 50s about the size of a d4 or smaller. but it has a big 3cyl diesel. What cats had this motor in em. Rare??

It could also be a Diesel 35 or Diesel 40, older than RD6.

There are still quite a few of them around. The 2H
series was built from 1935 - 1941 with about 10,000 units. They share the same bore and stroke with the early D7's and D8's (5-3/4 x 8) so a lot of parts are still available.

Hector is right, RD6 had the 3 cylinder engines. Those were early in the diesel era for CAT, probably late 30's into the 40's.

can you tell me a little about these. Can a guy still find parts for them? And is this a rare unit or what. I have never seen one with a 3cyl in it. Usually they were all 4cyl and 6. Thanks alot in advance
