Hi everyone,I am waiting on a JD450 steering clutch gauge to set the three fingers of tthe pressure plate - it is now two weeks and I have no idea how long it is gonna take to reach me. I am sitting with two steering clutches ready to install except the adjustment of the three fingers on the pressure plate. Does anyone have the measurement of the top of the finger down to the top of the clutch hub, when the fingers are adjusted properly (ie touching the lower part of the gauge when adjusted)? I thought this measurement should give me a ballpark figure for the finger adjustment. Incidently on one clutch pressure plate (the clutch didn't work) when removed from housing, all three fingers were at different heights, with about 1/8" difference between each for a total of 1/4 between high and low. I would like to put them back in properly adjusted and all the same :-) Any help would be appreciated. Thanks J. |
