Saw this in the paper. When I think about all the trees I pushed over with my open cab loader it makes my skin crawl. For god's sake be careful...

The wake for George took place last night. He lived and worked near me. Sometimes you only get one mistake. It is my understanding from friends that he had finished cutting the roots of the tree and was backing away to push the tree over when the accident took place. Clearing and cutting timber is always dangerous no matter how often you do it. I never knew an excavator or logger without a near miss story. I got felled by a snag tree while cutting timber about 20 years ago. I decided to cut it away rather than walk back to get the dozer. Stay safe out there.

really feal bad for the family of mr.adam's but this is a lesson learned NEVER put the tree on the same side as the cab always keep it on the other side of the boom as he was digging it out and bailing dirt he was turning to the right and that put cab closer to the tree if he would have been on the other side of boom he would still be with us. still real sorry for his family

Thanks for the post. The stuff we screw around with is dangerous. I need to be reminded once and a while. Condolences to the poor guy's family.
