Topic: How much does a td6 weigh ??

I'm looking at purchasing a td6 and need to know how much it weighs to see if I can haul it with my F250 Diesel truck and a friends trailer he hauls a backhoe on.

| I just finished rebuilding my TD-6. mine weighs almost 12000lbs with a IH dozer blade and a cargo winch. the winch alone is 2000lbs. I have a 12000 trailer and a 77 ford 1ton dump. the truck handles it ok with the combination of truck & trailer im not overloaded but you know its back there.a 3/4 ton will do ok provideing you have the proper trailer.a 14000 lb gooseneck would be the ticket

| My book says the td6,61 series weighs 8470# and the td6,62 series weighs 7876# And the td6,62 series with the wide tread weighs 8700# . All these weights are only the tractor ,no loader or dozer blade. I can scan the page and email it ,it has all the serial #'s and years .email me at thek9makers@lycos.com

| If you do a search for 'td' and 'weight', there will be lots of previous archived posts with different weights for various options (blades, buckets etc). Regards,RAB

| Darrell, According to the Nebraska tractor tests book I have, a bare TD-6 weight depends on the year. The early ones (1940) they tested weighted slightly over 7000 lbs and the later ones (1956) weighted over 9000 lbs if I remembered correctly. Roger

| If its just a TD-6 with out dozer blade or loader you might be able to but if it has any of those things its to much for what you have. They weight more the 10,000 lbs. When I had my TD-6 we always hauled it with my road tractor and equipment trailor. If you truck was a 1 ton you might get by but you would still be overloaded.
