I ran across this pic and found several of the items on this "500" engine, I myself have never seen one with the fuel system quite like this any one have one like it, this one has a primer pump, a either injector by the bellhousing and the pump even looks different, as far as I know this is a factory photo, maybe a late one? any thoughts?? cnt

Yes very interesting information. Firt off I know of 2 Case 500's that got fitted with a inline pump and have heard of several others converted. I know have one of them now with a hole in the block.

Have 2 other 500's with rotary pumps, 2 600's, 2 57's, 2 58 with rorary pumps. My 59 has the inline. Last summer I went to a auction where there was a 1959 900B with the inline pump and had a primer pump on it. I however think the hand pump was closer to the pump. Thanks all for all the good information on this post

Just a guess, but did the power units have a higher rated horsepower than the tractors?

I picked up a Case 301B Diesel a few months ago. I thought it funny that it has an inline APE pump on it. Not shown in parts books. I figured it was meant to be an export tractor. Massey Harris did the same with their export tractors. PSB pumps were used on domestic models.

Hi 111
You mention the fuel system on the "500" tractor in the photo, the answer to your question regarding the fuel injection pump on that tractor was built by German Bosch and is an inline pump. However all Case tractors around that era were factory fitted with again a German Bosch pump - but of the rotary design as standard on all of those tractors for the U.S. market as standard. However all those models that were desined for export to foriegn countries were fitted with the in line type fuel pumps. At that time the rotary design of pump was new and that was the reason for the diffent pumps being fitted to those tractors.

Hope that you cann follow this.

I have a 900B--1959 model sitting at the farm with an inline pump. It was a lot more fuel saving than the round one I have on the 58 - 900.

Just wanted to add that the parts books show the break between the two pumps at serial 8141036 for what that may be worth.

Found this pic the other day, I hope mine will look like it someday. It has the same pump, was that for export?

I"ll bet the US ,500 Case tractors used Americian Rotary is the cost. Case had to compete with tractors using the Rosa Master pumps.

Check out eBay item #281057739659. It is an ether injector from a 500 like the one in the picture.

Bro,
Perhaps the ether injector is mtd. there because it is a power unit and not a tractor.

It's a power unit. Look at the bell housing and compare it to that of the tractor. Also the decompression lever is on the side without the lickage going back to the operators platform.

I think all 900B in this part of the country had the ether injector fastened to the dash and a line running to the engine. In fact they took a Capsule type ether. Len
