Doug aren't you in MN? I have bulk oil from Case through MN AG Group. They travel all over MN and WI. Last time it was just under $12 a gallon for Hy-tran,15-40 and pre mixed coolant. Free delivery, and when you are on the bulk oil program you get 20% off filters year round. The set up has easily paid for itself, and no more 55 gal. drums. You buy the totes, if you only need one, get one. I'm sure hy-gard is good oil but sure seems thin compared to hy-tran. |

It's something to look into. I just called a jd and Case dealer the other day to price bulk oil in my drum, Hygard $11.49, Hytran $13.35, Napa $10.49, Growmark $9.49

WHAT??? Hyguard is 20 wt. and Hytran is 10 wt. That is the reason I switched 15 years ago. Haying in the summer heat the Hytran would get so hot and thin that it was causing problems. Hyguard runs much cooler. I have never broadcast my switch because I figured you guys would give me crap. From the experience I have had it is time to tell you all what you are missing out on. I am never going back! And yes it holds water just as good as Hytran. DK

Hygard justs seems thin. Poured some last week, runs like water compared to hytran, Cenex quik lift seems thin too. I just haven't seen any problems with hytran. To each their own I guess.

Thinner oil removes heat quicker thru the oil cooler. I agree with DKase.
