Look down, there are 2 posts about it. The story as I know it is that my dad bought it in 1955. The dealer had let it out for loan or rent, so it wasn't new but had never been sold. It was always the "yard" tractor, it had a front loader on it and was used for hauling manure, grinding feed, blowing and hauling silage ect. It was never used much for tillage. Dad had another DC-4 and a ford jubilee that were used for that till he bought a new 800 then an 830. It eventually quit running because the cam went out. That's when he gave it to me. I replaced the motor with one that came from my brother that had a busted rear end. I wish I had kept the original engine and fixed it tho, but I was young then and not into collecting. |
