Chuck, You might just be listening tooo close. All 4cyl motors have an inbalance in them or(pulse) especially at low RPM. That is why later Case engines in that size range had balancers installed. You may just be hearing this (pulse) being transfered into the drive line. If you want to hear this exemplified, just listen to a small frame 430-630 tripple range at an idle. Early JD 4cyls had the same problem. Loren |

| Interesting! I will modify my stethoscope so that i can sit in the seat,and see if it amplifies or decreases when i put her in gear..ALL MANY THANKS FROM THE CASE FAMILY>I WILL KEEP YOU APPRISED AS I MOVE FOWARD ON THIS! CHUCK |

| Chuck, Take off the white shop apron, toss the ear peice, turn up the radido,HeHe, or better yet, hook the old girl on something and see what it sounds like under load, in all gears, at low RPM.If you still hear the same unusual sound, refer to previous posts. Loren |
