JW 12-20-2012 19:43:54 75.207.167.54 Report to Moderator	Use the 970 pan, 1370 radiator, 970 flywheel. You have to do some fabricating for the air intake to get it under the hood. Mine has a late 1070 fitler housing. If your 504 is a later one with oilers you'll want to run close to 5 gal of oil. It will put the oil level right at the F in Full on the 970 dipstick. If you use the 13 tin oil pan you will lose the support the 970 pan provides. [Reply]   [No Email]

We had that problem with a 504 out of a 2670 that we put in an 1170. When we snugged it up we poped an ear off of the timing cover. 1370 may have a different oil pump. The newer 13 muffler would sit high enough to clear the hood line if you put it on backwards but it looked too big on there. It was quieter though. We put a 451 bdt in a friends 970 2 or 3 years ago. That turned out well. He uses his pretty hard but hasn't tore anything up yet.   [Reply]  [No Email]
