They can, however, be installed in tractors (with some mods) |

| | What mods? I thought the 201G used a 188G block? meL and John Saeli indicate that rebuild parts for 201G are next impossible to get. Just from a little looking, it seems 188G rebuild parts are harder to get than the 188D parts. Jim |

| If the information I've recieved from a couple of guys here is correct, the combine engines had a belt-driven governor, and they won't function properly in an ag application. The engine would have to have the timing chain cover and ag governor controls put on to it. I've got a 440H with a G188D in it,(out of a combine, apparently) and it's got the belt-driven governor on it. I was told by a couple of guys here that I'd have to change the governors out for it to run right. I have a g148 that's got the pieces, but have yet to do it. There may be other things, as well. There's been several discussions on it here. |
