My DC3 has a build card that reads it was born 5/28/1952. My very own build card reads that I was born 12/18/1962. I can promise you that the tractor both looks and runs better than it's owner. Are we old, vintage or antiques? |

When I read ads for tractors, the same age as myself, the ad will often read Cheap Horsepower. My build card reads 24/12/60, but I prefer Classic model, don't sound old at all.Bruce

Bruce, sure be nice to see some photos and tell about your dairy cows and barn. I use to have a small jersey herd in southern nj. back in the 80,s. Moved to sc. in 89. just pull Oliver tractors now and have a garden, no more cows. thanks Kenny

How small is small Kenny? We can tie 62 under the pipe line right now, but are in the prosses of adding ten more stalls, with an E-Z trac to carry the milkers with auto take offs. Hope to have this little project completed in the new year. Around my neighbourghood my herd is about average size, there are maybe 5 herds over 100, and another 3 over 200 cows in my county, out of 60 herds. Most are tie, but larger herds are all free stall, with lots of employees, so much for econemy of scale. I have three friends near by that have Jersey cows also. My son and I with some help from the wife do everthing execpt spray chemicals and combind corn. Here are a few pic's of cows ,dairy barn, heifer barn, and some shots of the Case tractors we do the work with . Bruce

Bruce, most wife and I milked was 35. We both worked full time, had my Dad help with getting ground ready to plant, wife and I would come home from work, she milked and I planted crops. Dad had milked till he had heart trouble in 1965. No cows till 1980 when I started, old barn with L shaped tie stalls 10 one way 5 the other way. Pipeline on the row of 10. No gutter cleaner, wheelborrow and shovel!! One 12bye40 silo also made pile on ground. Did this for nine years, made up mind to quit move to sc,sick of paying such high taxes in nj.

I believe Case/Fiat would tell us all that we are obsolete, and parts are no longer available.

My Case VAC is one year older than I am. My 8N is same age as me. My JD H is ten years older than me. They start easy and every time and can work circles around me. I am sitting here typing and my hip is killing me. The tractors will be going long after I am gone. Richard, a 52 model

Your age is only a number, you are only as old as you feel. Are you old, vintage, or an antique, NO, you are experienced. There are other words to describe us also but the above three aren't any of them.

Our church does not have any Senior Citizens, they are Seasoned Adults. One gentleman is now 95, and lost his wife, just two weeks short of their 73rd Wedding Anniversary, 6 years ago. He is an inspiration to everyone, and when ask how old he is, he will tell you that he is 59, and will be 69 next year. In a few years I will become a Seasoned Adult. I have a 46 DC and we are the same vintage.
