Used 18.4x38s paired up very nicely, for duals. If you look close the 13 had an abundance of front and rear weights, and those 23.1s were loaded above the top of the rim. As I stated in your post about the 932, they would "Power Hop", but pulling the throttle back a bit would smoothen them out, untill you pulled through the tough spot, and then you could pick up the pace again. When we were demonstrating with a 13, it was fun to show a customer how I could cut the Rs back to 12-1400 on a hill, and then just give it some juice and it would come rite back, The Red and Green ones had to down shift to recover from those RPMs Loren [Reply]  [No Email]

Tha addition of turbo's never caught on here, never did any. Were they M+W kits or something else? Was the larger air cleaner ussually added? I did paint a tractor those colors once and hated it after a couple years. I'm sure you seen the same thing happen, the black gets scratched or chipped off and the orange under shows through and looks bad. I also find all black chassis tractors more difficult to work on because its harder for me to see details and cleaning them sucks. I wash and wash, then think everything is clean and find all kinds of hidden dirt when you start to tear them down. Hmmm, I don't soppose that has anything to do with age and poorer eye sight, lol, Rod. [Reply]  [No Email]

Manifolds, oil cooler, return and supply oil lines, exaust elbow,slip collar, and muffler. The stock air cleaners wern't big enough and the 1175 setup was really pricy, so we either doubled up the stock cleaners parallel, or came up with ones like in this pic off a wrecked truck. All we did was open the fuel screw about a 1/2 turn, and advance the timing about 2 degrees, they still had to start good in cold weather. 970 would dyno at 140 to 145 PTO HP at these settings.The 1070 at 155-165, and one at 180HPwith a little extra coaxing. We built these tractors up to last in the field, and didn't max them out. They actually ran cooler turboed than they did naturally aspirated, and we always told our customers to pull the same implements they had, just easier and more consistant on our steep terrain. and NOT to weight the tractors down to pull bigger implements. They had to get some wheel slip for the trannies to last. As for the 7 and 870s, we ordered parts from Case also, as there were 336Ts used in industrial equipment. We were not an industrial dealer, but could order parts. We also repowered two 770 Gas tractors with 336T industrial skid engines that we aquired through Bassett Equipment in Sand Hill, Nebraska. They were the small journal engines and would run 110HP out of the crate. The 770s would make 90-95Hp with nothing more than tweeking the pump. We did install factory oil coolers on all of them, like the standard oil cooler that mtd between the filter and the filter manifold, on the last of the 870s, Loren [Reply]  [No Email]

Adirondack case guy 11-19-2012 04:31:12 74.69.160.79 Report to Moderator	Re: A Couple of Older Poloriod Pics, That I Found Today. in reply to Mo 1032D, 11-18-2012 18:55:40   As I stated we had turbocharged this tractor as we did a large number of 7-1070s a turboed engine will swallow 3 times more air than a naturally aspirated engine. Stock aircleaners did not allow enough intake air and exaust temps ran high when starved for air. That was the downfall for turbos in 9-1030s. Poor air flow leading to heat buildup and cracked heads. We also had problems with the center pivot bracket breaking. We took a new bracket to a local machine shop and they fabed up several at a time for us out of thick steel. We sold those inlue of the Case built ones and never had that problem again. Loren [Reply]  [No Email]
