This summer I sold my Zetor and bought a Case 1070, a 1974 power shift with about 8100 hours. I'll use it to blow snow at our mountain retreat in the winter and do a little loader work in the summer. We get some serious snow, and the Zetor wasn't cutting the mustard. The 1070 had been neglected for a decade(s?), so I've spent a lot of time cleaning it up, changing fluids, and fixing lots of little things. I've been looking for a forum, and this one is the best!
I would appreciate your advice on a few things left to be done. The first is the transmission temperature gauge. The gauge doesn't work, and I suspect that it's just a broken wire. I can't for the life of me find the sending unit though. Can someone point me in the right direction?
Thanks,
Mitch |

| Thank you Marlin & Rod, I appreciate your help. I thought that wire had something to do with the PTO. I'll check it out.

| | Hi Mitch, The sending unit is located at the rear, just a few inches above the pto shaft.Unhook the wire and ground it against the frame it should pin needle over in the red. This will indicate that the gauge is good. This transmission running proper will stay cool for what you are doing. Marlin1

| The sender is on the PTO housing RH side down about the level of the PTO shaft, it can get sort dirty in that area, but thats where it will be, Rod. |
