Having checked the power steering system. I have found the front steering gear to be binding a lot. I'm getting ready to remove the housing from the tractor. The steering shaft is off . My question are is it necessary to remove the radiator or can the housing be removed without disrupting the cooling system? Are parts avalible seals bearings etc?Joe thanks for the help with the power steering. |

| This info is from working on a 310 & 311B. 310B should be the same or close. You can get to all the steering apparatus by lifting the cover. Take the nuts off the two studs on the bottom of the radiator and wedge it up slightly so the cover will clear and lift out. If it is binding in there it may be a combination of worn pins and backlash adjustment or even a broken pin lever. Several other wear areas in there also. You can get new pins from some of the guys here on the forum. They press in interference fit, you may need pins a couple thousandth oversize if existing pin(s) are loose. I don’t know if parts are available from Case, I got bushings, bearings, and cam seals at various places, mostly suitable substitutes. Joe |
