Thanks for all of the replies.
I found a valve and linkage from various sources for fairly cheap and made the other parts I needed to add one remote to my 430. I've had it together for about six months now and split a fair amount of firewood with it and am very pleased. Sure, it's not the fastest cycle time but it's adequate and has not encountered a log it couldn't split yet. That's with my four inch bore 3pt splitter.
Next up: I found an independent PTO for this tractor cheap and also the correct shaft for the independent drive (not so cheap), which I plan to install over the winter. I need to rebuild the PTO clutch pack first (why it was cheap) and figure out if I need to change anything in the main clutch area to plug the IPTO shaft in there (doesn't look like it from the parts diagrams), then I'll have another brush hogging tractor. |
