Tom,

Glad to hear you are getting some rain. We went from very little all year to can't get the corn off in 2 weeks time. Too much too late. Oh the joys of farming! Don

Good to see ya gettin' some wet, CNT. Is that a down-pressure setup on the phd? How about a closer shot of it, if it is?

Tim, yes it is a factory down pressure kit on a F-8 Danuser, I sold this unit new along with a real nice 380 Case, they ran it for a summer then he decided hiring help was not worth the hassle so he sold the 380 and I bought the digger back for a great price, I will post you some pics tomorrow, it showered off and on most of the day nice rain maybe .025 or so total is my guess cnt

We got another 0.25" overnight. That makes very nearly 1.25" for October. If it keeps it up, we might get 1/2 our normal for the year.......

Congratulations on the rain. We had a better summer this year than last, made some hay at least.
My Dad's first hay baler was a Case just like that one. He also bought a 430 Diesel in late 1967, and still has it. Recently he found a gasoline 430 and bought it. Those balers were good ones, as I recall, as were the tractors. The reason he got Case was because his banker was someone he grew up with and he 'steered' him to the Case dealer, as he did a lot of his farmer customers he financed. He may have been (probably was) getting a kickback but he did help Dad get started and in a lot of ways. A whole 'nother story.

Nutty, what you have there is commonly refered to as "rain" here in east central mn. On most years it is a frequent visitor that causes no end of problems. It frequently reduces a normal 6 week planting season to 1 week or less of usable time. It makes putting up 1st crop hay dry nearly imposible. It frequently floods out our crops in the summer. In fall it has been known to delay harvest til freeze up so combines can carry on the mud. It's some NASTY stuff and I recommend you try to chase it away before it gets to homey. This stuff has an ugly sister called "snow" who frequently comes to visit us in late October or November and refuses to leave til April.
