My L3010 HST is blowing blue smoke when the transmission is being used, seems to have lost pulling power, but not engine power. Doesn't smoke at a standstill. Anyone know if there's some way for the oil in the transmission to get sucked into the engine? |

| Tim, Bro. and I talked via cell this morning about your problem. We came up with ???? also. I have seen trachoes run on grades where they were teathered to big cats with winches. Never saw an engine failure, However a fellow I worked for, dropped an Ackerman 10 into a celler on a demolition job, (Perkins Powered) and starved the lube pump, trying to rite himself. and it died. I know you were on some very steep hilsides, but It would be hard to believe that you damaged the crank thrust bearings enough to cause missalignment of the rods with the pistons I would look for some oil starved/ rockers that are hanging a bit. I'm really out there on this, but, so is your question. Loren |

| Loren, thanks for the reply. I may have accidentally cured it. I'd bled the system at least twice each time I took the filter out or the fuel lines off. Replaced the fuel pump, and bled it thru after doing so. About an hour later, the blue smoke showed up, and I bled it again. It seemed to help. Half-hour later, the smoke re-appeared. I scratched my head, and then my (insert whatever you think of 1st here). Then thought to my self... "Self.... maybe the dang thang is sucking air in around the fuel lines, or there's a hole in one.." Self said "Well, ya tried about everything else." So I got a couple of feet of new fuel line from NAPA, 4 small clamps to replace the chintzy factory spring clamps, put them on it and it hasn't offered up any smoke since. That was about 10 running hours ago. I probably spent the 140 bucks on the fuel pump for naught. Oh, well...live and learn, as they say...I don't wanna jinx myself and say it's fixed,. but it's not messin' up at the present..lol.. |
