Looking to save some weight by using a different wheel rim combo in the front. What else would mount to the spindle? Has the factory set up. Looking for something with a solid stamped rim if possible. |

| Swap in a manual steering unit from a 400. Also, the 400 narrow front is lighter than the later ones. I have a narrow front from a 930 with 6 bolt hubs and an extra set of hubs in the shop. I used to pull my 1030 with a narrow front until I got tired of farming with it like that and rebuilt the wide front. |

I'll agree with you as long as the front is coming up you don't need to lose weight up front. I need to lose weight up front to get the front up so it will float in the lighter classes. It's got that big honk'n power steering box in the front. |

I appreciate the reply from a Case expert. 10# off the front is the same as adding 90-100# in the back when pulling. |

| Keeping the front end on the ground keeps the drawbar level which keeps the skid up and easier to pull. 200# of weight on my L on the front axle made it go farther than 200 on the back. |

| Later 730 and 830's had 6 bolt front wheel and hub. I know they interchange with that spindle. |

| I doubt you would save 10# with the 30/70 series setup. The hubs were rally HD, plus you have the weight of a solid pressed steel wheel, verses a rim with 4 lugs. Loren |
