Just put some money down on a non-running and not stuck 446. Bad front tires, new rears with chains. Comes with a plow, tiller, cultivator, front weights and, believe it or not, log splitter. There's 2 old rear-tine tillers, 2 front tine tillers, another riding mower, 3 push mowers and a couple of weedeaters, to boot. Only thing that it doesn't have is a mower deck. I've already commited to buy it all for $600. Sheet metal looks good, but the seat will need recovered. Has the onan engine, not sure of the HP, but it's a one owner machine, and has never had a mowing deck on it.

Hi Tim,
That was a great deal, and I had alot of issues with my "448",I even put on a electric fuel pump, turned out the little screen in the bottom of the tank was plugged, after that she blew snow to beat the band.
I have a tired "446" that I use around the farm for rough mowing,I just keep adding oil,and she keeps running.
Send some pictures if you can

Fuel line from the tank can get a small crack and give you fits. I replaced all the fuel lines and have had no problems since. Bookmark www.onanparts.com.

You'll love the tractor....

Tim, That sounds like a good value, for many items. I have three Case GT's. One is a 1979 446. If you want a deck, they are around. There are a couple forums dedicated to Case Garden tractors. One is a YT Group. Other is an 'Independent'. http://www.casecoltingersoll.com/
Good Luck.

Many years ago I worked with one of those splitters. The fact that it splits in both directions means it will really go through the wood, but it took 4 guys, two on each side to work it to its potential. It was very impressive.

That's good to know, Paul. The splitter helped me make up my mind...I have about 4 16' car trailer loads piled up right now, and the wife broke the handle outta my splitting maul last year...(LOL)

sounds good for here Tim, a 446 is 16hp, engines can be a little spendy to rebuild but are well worth it great power for that tractor, a mower deck should not be that hard to find cnt

I turned the engine a full revolution and it seemed to have compression. Hope it's something in the fuel or fire. The owner died a couple of years ago, but it had quit running prior to that. Cool log splitter, tho. It's got a double-ended knife that will split both directions. Never seen anything like it. BTW, the plow and cultivator have "Brinly" on them. Were they affiliated with Case?

Tim,
Those Onans were real trempremtal with the ignition system. If it doesn't run, start there. Sounds like a deal to me.
Loren
PS I have two good snowsasters and two maybe fixable ??? 48" mower decks.
