Wonderful video! Love to hear the L do its thing. Beautiful Percheron (?) team. How'd they get along with the threshing machine? I never saw it operate but Dad and Uncle had an L on a Case separator. Thanks again for a wonderful job. Very nice touch pulling back into the yard.

Thanks! I, too, love to hear a Case work. The Percherons were doing better by the time the day was over. It took them a while to get into the swing of things, so they were led up to the machine and held at first. We kept them on the opposite side as the belt, but wouldn't need to if they had a few days to get used to it.

Good job!! I see the thresher has a Garden City grain elevator and weigher on it like our Belle City. Crankshaft for grain pan runs at 200 strokes per minute.

Thank-you for sharing your video. It great to see the past. I wonder how many folks where there working that day? I barely remember threshing days as a boy but do remember my dad 4 hired men would get things going after lunch. My older brothers and I would start chores at nite(dairy farm) the oats would loaded into old dump truck and big old flat bed truck dad would put them in the machine shed. Thanks for sharing, would like to take part in one of them threshing bee's before I can't left a pitch-fork anymore. Sorry for babbling on. God Bless

Well, there were probably around 50 or so people. Most people found themselves busy at some point or another, but it was a big enough group that no one had to work too hard. Thanks for the story!
