         Some pics of picking corn with th 400 and 426 picker and Jeff's NI superpicker. The NI works great, the case not so much. Had a lot of problems with that. Did get some excelent bonding time with my friend tho while fixing it. I think Jeff has less tollerance for repairs than me. LOL. Will post some videos later.

Where in MN? I'm near Waseca. I volunteer at the MAIC Farmamerica (WWW.farmamerica.org) and they have a NI picker just like the one in your photos.Nice photos. Thanks for posting them.

| great pics jon!! bet it was a fun day even with the repairs,, what was giving you fits?? I have never picked corn before but it would seem the mounted picker would be easier to stay lined up with the rows?? but I think the pull type would be less noise and dirty?? be real neat to have seen them in the field working this is the next best thing cnt

| Not much different as far as lining up the rows. If it's muddy (it usually is here) the pull type will pull to the side and run down the corn, but with the mounted the narrow front will sink or push mud so you are stuck either way. And they are dusty and noisy. I wouldn't want to run one for a living, I just did it for fun. LOl.

| I put new chains in the elevators that take the corn from the snappers to the husking bed above the rear tires. For some reason after the new chains were installed the would catch on a thin metal guide where they come around the bottom gear. I can't figure out why tho. Tried to bend the guide up, then down, tightened the chains then loosened them, ran the picker faster then slower. Nothing seemed to make any difference. Sometimes it would run for a while, then they would catch every couple of minutes. It would catch on one side for a while then move to the other side. It was so random I just couldn't trace it to a source. I'm wondering if it was because of the paint in the chains not letting them flex properly. They are the flat type chains like a hay elevator or manure spreader apron. Will try oiling them up and see if that helps.

| Jon, is possible that the spockets are alittle worn and the new chain is not comming off the spocket? Just my 11 cents worth. old spockets not getting along with new chain. God Bless

| No, gears are fine. Had no trouble til I put in new chains. The elevator kinda curves up, like an upside down rainbow and it has a guide that holds the chain down. The top of the links thats open catches on the begining of this guide. Tried to cut a bit off one guide thinking the chain would have more time to lay flat so it wouldn't catch, but that was no help. So I welded a piece back in that was a bit longer thinking it would hold the chain down sooner, but that also was no help. Kinda loosin my mind on this one.

| Chain in backwards? When I had that trouble with the cross conveyer on the feeder wagon I welded a 1/2" rod across the end of the guide and that solved the problem.

| No, chain is right. We thought about that too but it is the same as the other. The rod on the end is a good idea, I may try it.
