Left the shop tonite just to the west the smoke was rolling. Neibors 2388 cleaning fan drive pulley was rubbing causing a grinder affect. Bone dry here, lit the field up. 20mph winds. Lucky for everyone his tractors and tillage equipment were out, tractors dualed and fueled. I bet the 2390 I hooked the chisel plow to has not worked that hard in a few years, in this rock hard ground. No equipment loss just some $8 corn.

That had to be a very scary sight! Glad no one was hurt, other than the farmer's pride I'm sure. I like the Case fire fighting equipment.

Yea cnt, Not the fire like you posted. I can't believe a paper dry corn field with wind just wouldn't be a blaze?

Will the burned corn be harvestable, never seen a corn field burn before?

Moline guy, Yes, I would think you could combine it. But I bet there will be more head loss, you can already see some cobs on the ground.

Know some people last year, sold burnt corn to an ethanol plant for little loss. Worth checking into.
