Anyone have any idea how much HP would a 400 have with a 4 3/8 bore, LP heads and a turbo? |

| The book says 7.46 to 1 compression 400 LP engine 6.5 to 1 for gas. Can't find anything for 4 3/8 pistons. 930, 377 cube engine, book says 8.5 to 1.
Going from 7.5-1 to 9-1 only gets 4hp. Upping the bore 3/8 inch will add 50 more cubes for a 20% increase to 301. Feeding the 20% increase will be your problem, just adding it will do nothing but add reciprocating mass. Same problem with stroking it. You have to feed it to gain HP.
You would get a bigger increase just having the heads massaged, and leaving the bore stock. |

| I can't answer your question but can tell you that we put 4 1/4" pistons in our Super 400 and were not overly impressed with the resulting HP, My personal opinion is that the 400 engine could use another 1/2 inch of stroke. Anybody have other input on this? Don |
