Sorry guys, the minnie shown sort of goes with CASE. It's the first new tractor my dad bought and I learned to drive. Dad used this from 1959 to 1992. Durring those years it did all the planting, mowing, raking, baling, spraying, corn picking, feed grinding and manure hauling. The 830, 970, and 2290 owned at different times did the cultivating and tillage. It survived 5 boys and all the abuse we could throw at it. We preferred driving it over the nieghbors 530 when we helped them put up hay. Now before I receive all the hate mail and death threats I must say the torq in those tractors could be shifted very smoothly and you never jerked anyone off the bale rack. I had not seen the Jet for 15 yrs. My brother now owns it and he lives in SE MN. It came back home for a tune-up and starter work. Rod.

My good friend and partner in crime is a Minnie man. He has a U, a U special and a Z. The Z pulls like a little demon. I like driving those tractors. Between the two of us we add a little Orange and Gold to the sea of Green at our local pull.

I'll agree that MM is second best.

I like the smaller Molines. My neighbor has an R that I helped him fix up. I don't have any, but I'd like to have one. The hydraulic pump and the steering wheel on the R is the same as used on a VAC. Not sure what other parts they may have in common.

Boy, this place is just crawling with closet Minnie lovers. I hear some even have Masseys and pre-Moline Minnies.

Nothing wrong with MM,I always admired their equipment, think they had a ad that would show their combines and the title was "The Harvesters".I do think MM was ahead of their time on some of their ideas and equipment.Especially MFD.
They built heavy tractors like below,Casemans, large cubic inch and stroke, like Case did,I do enjoy looking at collectors collections.Especially the "Harvesters"

I Don;t own a MM myself, but I looked at a "G1000 Vista" once IIRC. Seemed like a real nice rig. It was just way more tractor than I need...at the time. I might jump on it today.

I always said Minnie Mos and Cases had more in common than any others. Always wanted them to merge and live happy ever after.

It's OK to like 'em all- I pull a Case and a Minnie, and smile just the same going down the track.

When I was growing up in the early 50, one of our neighbors had a Minnie. I was impressed. He did a lot of chisel plowing with it. It had a very fast road gear.

Our farm's first rubber tired tractor was an R moline. My cousin has the original, but dad bought one just like it a few years ago already restored. All that goes back to 1950.

Would never throw stones @ a M-M, but I have a story, true. In the early 70's when I was a kid, I had a 630 Diesel C-O-M w/ a loader that I'd plow snow with. Had chains on the back tires & when it was real bad, I carried the 3-16's on the E-H. Neighbor had a M-M like the one pictured & was buried in the snow & mud w/ a load of manure. Ol'e Don hooked the chain around his front axle, & I hooked to the drawbar of the 630. I told Don that the front X was a poor place to hook. He hollerd at me & told me to get going. I put the 630 in a lower gear & eased into her, the chain tightened, and I gave her some more throttle,; with the chains & ballast, she wasn't going to spin. I gave her some more & the rear tires sqatted & then "BANG", we jumped forward as the front axle on the M-M came loose.

Hey, I have a ZAU I just don't tell anybody so please keep it quiet. We had a neighbor who had a UB Minnie that did a good job pulling 3-16 back in the 50's. I always thought that the U and G series were good field tractors but a little awkward around the yard.

Miniy Moes are second best. There was a good MM dealer in our area, and both of us could put the Red and Greens ones to shame on an on farm demonstration.
