After seeing 970's table post and pics, I'm wondering where do you guys get your paint? I've thought about going to Lowes or Home Depot and see if they can match it, but if there's a ready made source, I'd love to get a couple of gallons of Desert Tan and Flambeau red.

As long as I'm on the subject, is there a formula I can carry to Lowes and have them mix up a batch I can use as house paint - This fall, I'm going to paint the house and I would love it to be desert tan with flambeau red trim - just don't tell the wife as she grew up in a house painted John Deere yellow with John Deere green trim.

Florida, in addition to John, Tisco and this web site also sell both colors. (Tisco may only sell power red, dont remember)The mostly resell Van Sycle. Also a NAPA Paint shop may do a better job of mixing than home depot. Somewhere on this site the NAPA paint codes are posted.

I buy my paint from John Saeli.

http://www.saeliimplement.com/

Its a two part enamel. John has the paint and hardener, in fact I just called them about an hour ago for an extra quart of Desert Sunset for a project.

The problem with a paint formula is it would be for automotive paint. You would have to come up with samples for computer matching to turn into house paint. Flambeau red would be easy. An auto parts store that sells Dupli-Color rattle can paint should have Chevrolet Orange Red Engine Enamel DE 1607. Desert Sunset is a bit more difficult. I haven't seen it in touch up paint. The color would be 1980 Ford Pastel Chamois.

I don't know if it helps but I think the scan of my samples copied pretty accurate.
