I have heard some mixed opinions about weather or not one should flush his hydraulic system with diesel fuel. Does anyone know if this is recommended on a Case 830 Comfort King w Draft-O-Matics? If so, how much diesel should be used? I know the capacity is 17 gallons. That sounds kinda pricey to buy that much diesel and a pain to dispose of--I'm running out of five gallon buckets! Would I be committing an egregious tractor sin if I skipped flushing and just dumped the new UTF in? Thanks! |

| I am sure there are different opinions on the subject. Quite frankly I don;t see a need to do it unless you feel there is some kind of crud in there that needs to be disolved. For a normal tractor that has no special problems simply operate the tractor to get oil warmed up and contaminates in suspension. Drain oil as soon as possible. Let old oil drain completely, in stall plugs and refill. Well thats my 2 cents worth, hope this helps, Rod. |
