Did a compression test on my DC and got 80#s on all cylinders. Is that low? Looked in manuals and could not find what it should be. Would like to get around 135#s. How much do I need to machine off head to achieve that kind of compression. |

| Valves in good shape or recessed? How about rings? What head or pistons? Lots of ways to up compression, to much off the head can cause other problems with valve train geometry. |

| Looked at head and the number is 5576A, do not have any idea what the pistons are because I bought the tractor last week. Was raised on a D and SC case, Dad farmed back in the mid 70"s smaller tractors were case and bigger tractors were a John Deere 3020 and 4010. The cases we could fix our selves and the jds went to the shop when something went bad. |
