I talked to Gerald last night at the Granite, Ia pull. He didn't say yes and he didn't say no. Just that it would be more of a winter job and that you need to find a flywheel, possibly one out of a pickup (he made a steel one for his)and use IH side frames. He has a double disk 12" clutch and the front end is a wide front with rack and pinion steering. |

What were the frame rails fastened to? Not much to fasten to on a 400

Recently I see a M Farmall with a 5.9. Excellent job of installation. Of course it had a little frame and hood work, that too was done very well. I;m sure a 5.9 would work well in a 400 offering a weight savings over the 504. Install either engine and I'm sure people will say that is cool and we know each will produce enough power to make you grin from ear to ear. Rod.

Hey Steve, You coming to PV? We need some case's to dilute the green ones! Had a good night at Granite with the CC, won the 4500-5000-5500 5mph cut tire classes against some 500+ cube M's and 88's.

Just pure curiosity; not trying to get a "this one's better than that one" discussion going, but why not just bolt a 504 right in?
