A scrap yard in my area of OR has a Case DO which he will sell, but he bought it when iron was $300.00 a ton and doesn't want to loose money on the sale. Before he goes to trouble of digging it out from behind scrap pile. can anyone tell me what the shipping weight is on a DO w/o outer fender skirts or accessories.

Scrap dealer doesn't remember name of who brought tractor in a year a go to check what it weighed in at.

I'm checking on this for a friend in ID but I doubt he is going to buy it so if anyone is interested let me know and I will put them in touch with scrap dealer.

They didn't make a lot of the DO 2800 over the years
If its a DOEX then its very rare 115 total run.
Check it out you could have a nice rare tractor worth a lot of money even a DO is worth well over $1000 if complete and rebuildable.

Walt email me at my montie.stephens@yahoo.com and give me a return email or phone number, and I will give you directions to scrap yard. The only obvious thing missing off of this tractor was the muffler. Left fender is also bent along the top part of fender, but it is definitly fixable. he will sell it in the vacinity of the $1000.00 you mentioned. Nothing other than the DO on the data tag. The serical number makes it a 1940 model.

Thanks to all of you for the quick replies!

It doesn't sound like my friend in ID is going to try and buy this Case DO tractor, so Walt I will let you know where it's at in a day or so. There's a Cletrac Model W and a larger possibly a Minneapolis Moline sitting there. I'm also negotiating with him on a Cletrac HG.

There was a large data tag out on top of the tool box on the right side with Case DO followed by the serial number in much smaller print. It's 95 percent there. The inner fenders are solid but bent on the back lower corners. A short project to fix with a porta power. The back tires are total junk. Photos available.

All are for sale!

Thanks Again!

Montie

My DO weighs in around 4900 lbs without wheel weights.

If it's in salvagable condition (mostly complete, decent tires and engine not stuck) it's probably still worth the $600 he paid in scrap last year.

My old book, 4600 lbs. Most likely a scrap yard would have taken off app. 500 lbs for the tires.
It would be about 2 ton. It is worth about half of what they paid for it now for scrap.
