Serial number tags in reply to Glenn F., 11-12-2009 19:47:13
|
| | Glenn There are two to three serial tags on a 530 depending on the vintage. The tractor tag is on the right hood skirt which extends the hood lower to cover the fuel tank. The second is the engine tag which is on the right side of the engine block just above the oil pan. The third is the transmission serial tag which is used on the later models and is mounted on the top side of the transmission case under the seat. The pictures below show the tags on a 570, and the second shows an engine tag on an early model in the production run. In this case it's a '62 630.

| A serial number like that should be an engine or transmission number. By that number, I would think it is about an 1964 or 1965. |

| | Serial number is on the right side tin just below the chrome strip which covers the lower half of the gas tank. If your tin is gone...your number is gone. If thats the case, then you can narrow it down some by noting different options. Different changes made over the years can help narrow it down when compared to a similar tractor. 12 speed or 8? Eagle hitch or Draft-o-matic? Cluster guages or individual? Tie rods out front or behind the axle with hydrostatic steering? Hand clutch straight up or laying down? Live pto or Independent? |

| | I have not seen the tractor. It has: -Tripple range -Draft-o-matic -Cluster guages -Tie rods out front -Hand clutch, but I don't know if it's straight up or laying down -Independent pto as per hand clutch -Gas engine -No power steering Thank you, Glenn F.

| Glenn, not sure where you got that number but Case used number starting with 6 for Rock Island and 8 for Racine. Switched to 9 starting in 1980. Can you recheck the number? |
