Hello all . I just found a nice 88 standard gas stored in a barn for the past 20 years. after replacing needle and seat changing oil and filter It started right up. A few adjustments and it runns great . but it has low oil pressure .On the original gauge on idle its half way between 0 and low. At high speed it just gets to the top of low. The engine was supposed to have been overhauled just before being stored. My books are not here yet does anyone have any ideas? Is there a relief valve to adjust? Thanks Merv

Nice change of pace here in "caseland". The ollies used a small blade type pump and low pressure was pretty normal. As stated they were a drip type lube system and a good supply volume was more important than a lot of pressure. Just find out what an acceptable pressure was and go from there. Good luck with your tractor. mEl

Yes, there is a relief valve that is external. Check the oil pressure with a known accurate gauge. Keep in mind that Oliver's with their "timed spirt" oil system run a very low oil pressure compared to other types of lube systems.

check the plunger and spring in the front of the oil galley, there will be a plug on the RH side of the block below the generator accessible from the out side, plunger could be stuck
