ok this might sound dumb, but--my wd45 ac book has a good view of the distributor and right side of the engine---but no clear-cut diagram of which ports on distributor are connected to which spark plugs---can anyone point me to a good wiring diagram with this information---or can someone answer this question so i can get this thing back to life thanks jud |

I'm guessing that when you say posts you mean nipples on the distutor cap, right?? Well if so then heres how you do it. Get #1 piston up to top dead center, pull the cap off and look at where the rotor sits as far as the cap nipples. Hook that nipple up to #1 cylinder/plug, the rotor turns counter clock wise so the next one goes to #3 and then next to #4 and the last one to #2. Now if you get them 180 out and get a popping from the carb/exhaust then all you do is switch #1 and #4 and #3 and #2. and you will have it right. You will then need to after starting the engine fine tune the timing to get the best running engine you can. I just did that last week on a WD.

I'll just bet that you mean get the #1 piston to the top on the COMPRESSION stroke!- rather than exhaust.

Yes but if you do get it up on the exhaust all you have to do is switch the wires and all is well.

Hey old, the firing order is 1-2-4-3, and I thought the rotor turned CW.
