Tried rocking it in 3rd gear but no movement so I rolled the tractor on to 2 planks and used a large spar to lever the the planks up (thus creating a ramp) then I attached a steam cleaner to the radiator hose to fill the engine full of hot steam.. this heated the whole engine in about 1 hour to boiling point which heated the tranny fluid I had put in each cylinder. Using the weight of the tractor only I dabbed the clutch to provide enough jolt to unseize the engine. I removed the head and found rust in one of the cylinders which was causing the problem and removed it with a wire brush on a drill (once I lowered the piston out of the way by putting the engine in reverse and dabbing the clutch again). It is now free enough to hand crank. |
