Just obtained AC "G" with 42" Woods belly mower. The mower runs all the time the tractor is moving. Has anyone come up with a modification that would take the mower out of action when mowing is not desired-for example, when moving from one mowing area to another. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

IT IS A 225" BELT, COSTS ABOUT $50. TRYING NOT TO BURN-UP ANOTHER BELT BY PUTTING IT ON WRONG. CAN ANYONE HELP ?

Barry:

Contact your closest Woods dealer and order the manual for your mower. Woods has a good web site, search using 'woodsonline' and you will find the site, they do answer their e-mails and you may be able to get your belt installation instructions off of the web site, I did. Also, the manual is much cheaper then buying a second or third belt. The belt for my Woods L306, installed on a WD, runs around $110.00 (including shipping and tax). The manual was less than $8.00 (including S&T). I have only had to buy one belt, so far. Good Luck, Scott H

I assume that your G doesn't have hydraulics - mine does, and has a lever to turn off the belt pully. The mower has to be on to lift, though.

I'm looking to do the same thing with mine...want to work a clutch in on the spring loaded idler. Planning to work on the problem this winter...I'll put it on this site if I come up with a solution...maybe you can do the same if you get your mower modified first.

I have one just like this. You have to push in the clutch and then flip the belt off the pulley to get it to stop turning.
If you know of anywhere to get new blades for this mower I would appreciate any info on where to buy.
Aaron
