putting a e gleaner moter in mw wd.does someone know if i can just change the springs in the govner. and not change the front cover.makeing it into a puller. this year with out builbing the motor, thanks gblu. |

| I have never made that change. But I do know this. The combine engine does not have a governor control like the tractor. It only has the threaded rod up through the top, allowing you to adjust the one, fixed, governed speed. So, if you want a "throttle", you've got some more changes to make. |

| Might be somewhat "Exciting"...!!!! There ar different Governor springs for different engine governed speeds.. The Newer models ran more RPM...(170 ???).. Ron.. |

| That's right. For both the "little" block(B-C-CA-D10,12,14,15) and the bigger block (WC-175) there are different gov. springs. They are amazingly accurate. I put a D15II 2100 RPM spring on my C, and it holds it right there! What many don't realize is that the 226 engine in the combines is only governed at operating speed(which is adjustable with a nut on the governor) The "throttle" cable is just fastened to the throttle lever right at the carb., and simply overrides the governor, to pull the throttle plate closed. |

| Some Clubs require the Original RPM + 10% allowable, which hardly seems "Fair" sometimes... Ron.. |
