AC 7040 with on axle duals. The left side makes a popping noise on right turns. Have checked the bolts and all seem tight, the wheel is new as the center broke out of the old one. Any ideas what else I should check to find the problem ? Thank you |

| Might try raising up the back end, & spinning both sides by hand. You will also be able to shake the wheels around (at least without calcium in them) a little bit. If nothing; then try taking the outer wheel off, & try everthing. Turning tight with / without brakes. Running on the side of a steep slope both directions. That would help determine an axle / bearing problem. Thats at least a start! |

| | Not an axle bearing is it? sometimes sound travel through steel making it hard to figure out where the sound is coming from. Gene |

| Don't know how your duals are made, but if the bolts grab the rim with wedges, check for slippage/wear on the wedge where it contacts the rim. Check for shiny spots showing that the wedges are sliding on the rim. |
