The WC I bought has differen't rear cast than I have seen on most WC's. They are shown on page 312 in the CH Wendell book"The AC Story" and listed as "special" rear wheels. What was their intended use and would anyone be interested in them? |

Parts Book says 36 inch were optional - the 24 were standard on early WC, later WC had 28 inch, still with 36 inch as an option. The 36 were a different center with L brackets welded to rim and did not have fenders. If you have 24 with L brackets to rims, I don"t think thats a factory AC setup.

28" with the L bracket would be a high crop version of the unstyled WC when 24" tires were standard. You could get 28" or 36". That's my theory. Not very common I would say.

From the pic on pg 312, I can't see if they are cast, but they look like a smaller dia center....and carry smaller/narrower wheels. I have some cast centers for 28 inch dia, maybe some rims........I can check with a friend re what you have. Wanna talk? email is open.

book just says for special wheels for 28" tires, they have 3 holes for weights or what ever, the rims have L shaped lugs welded to them which bolt to the casting, the rims are totally destroyed by fluid, the screen over the radiator has a State of Minnesota tag wired to it and there are traces of a dark green in several places over the orange

Doug, I don't know this for sure, but have been told a lot of the wfe wc's were sold to state hwy. depts. as mowing tractors. Also been told Kansas bought a lot of them. Perhaps yours was a Minn. hwy. tractor. PS. I'm still working on my CC- s-l-o-w process.
