I was wondering what a wide front for a WC is worth? It appears to be factory with a casting between the frame and the front axle. Front axle is non -adjustable and slopes slightly down ward towards the wheels which are 6 bolt 16 inch pressed rims. If I remember correctly I have seen one or two like at shows over the years. Any help is appreciated. |

If it's like the one on page 312, it's the real deal.

If it is a casting, it might be a Schwartz aftermarket wide front. A true allis front end, has an arched front axle, and a pivot casting, projecting downward, about 6-8". Tractor was called, are you ready for this, A WF!

I don't know that a Schwartz wide front had a casting.....Schwartz was made in MN, not too far from me.....Regarding the AC Model WF- I have one, a 1949 model, and no way that the wide front on a WF is the same as the wide front on the earlier Model WC. Growing up, a neighbor had an unstyled WC with the wide front- I know what it looks like. He also had the after-market hand clutch to give him live power on the pto, running the Roto-Baler and combine.

it's like you described, I have seen WF's but this does not look quite like that, it is like the one on page 312 in CH Wendells AC story but it is unstyled, it was pretty neat and caught my eye!

Seen them go for as much as $1200 for a complete front but then I've also seen complete tractors with a wide front go for less than that. The parts book shows them as coming with 5 bolt hubs but others have said theirs has 6 bolt, probably the earlier ones.

I am at least going to make sure it brings enough so it doesn't go for scrap.
