Well I ran my 46 B out of gas & having problems getting it started. When it died the bowl was full of gas . There is a screen above the glass bowl - is that removable for cleaning ? Also how much does the pickup tube in the tank stick up if any? Maybe it has a screen in the tank ? There was a few pieces of rust in the bowl when I removed it - very little, maybe some got into the carb?

This is what I use to prevent the bowl inlet from clogging with rest and scale,

Not sure what your saying here so will ask a question before giving you an answer.
Are you saying you put more gas in the tank and now the sediment bowl is not filling up with gas??? If yes then that is doing as it should and the carb is full of gas from the last little bit that had been in the tank so the float is up and the needle is closing off the line so the sediment bowl can not fill with gas it is already full of another sort of non liquid liquid which is air. Start it up and watch the bowl it will fill

I have a B that needs the tank cleaned. When she stops I clean the bowel and screen then put it all back together. Then take the small portable air compressor to the tractor and blow back thru every thing from the carburetor into the tank with the cap off. Seems to last most most of the summer. Some day I gotta clean that tank. (:^D

Tank debris filled the drain when the gas ran out. Take the bowl off and blow air up in the tube.

still need to clean the tank out at some point.

if theres rust in the tank now would be a good time to take it off and clean it. The screen comes out so you can clean it. be careful of the gasket, the cork breaks up real easy.
