Found an AC 780 forage harvester that is five miles from my house. It has a one row cornhead good paint and good condition. It has one dent in blower pipe to remove but looks good mechanically. Were they any good? I might buy it to add to my collection as they are hard to find. What is it worth? Any help would bne appreciated. Thank you! |

| My grandfather had a new 780 with a two-row head and a direct cut head as well.He got along very well with it.Dad had a Deere 38 and said that the 38 was twice the chopper in capacity. The feed rolls open very little on the allis and that limits capacity. If you do not buy it I would be interested as I would like to find one.I enjoy forage harvesters and wagons from the 1960's.Post some pics if you get it. |

| The next door neighbor had one years ago and I do not recall any complaints. Probably not as nice as what is made today but no surprise there. There were a small number around years ago as there were AC dealers that had no shortlines such as Gehl or New Holland. |
