Hello all, I'm new to the web site and i have just purchased what i think is a 1952 CA and i am looking to verify what i bought. the owner had no idea what it was, and im not sure if i figured out the numbers right.

the numbers next to the shifter are CA15865.

Me and my freind have 14 hit and miss motors and i have been itching to get a tractor for a while. i came across this tractor for free as it was sitting in this guys garage at his farm. the guy is not a farmer, but he bought this farm for his horses that his wife loves. the tractor came with the house and he just wanted to get rid of it, his neigbor said it ran 2 years ago but its been sitting since.

I would appreciate any help that anyone has to offer.

Make sure the transmission shift lever boot is good, a cracked one can let water into the transmission. Check by draining a little to see if water is in there. Change final drive oil, this can be YEARS and YEARS old and really bad. You need to pull the pans to do it but is is worh doing soon just to know it is good when you are done.

Quoting Removed, click Modern View to seeforunantly the tractor has been inside most of its life but we have already drained and refilled the fluids and are now awaiting a carb kit.

unfortunatly i have come to find out the wrong carb is on the tractor the numbers on the carb plate tell me it came off of a 1950 C distillate. the carb should work but i would like to find the right one.

Your CA was built in 1952. About 26 PTO HP. It has a hand clutch in addition to the engine clutch to give you live PTO. I should have spin out rear wheels.
Is it a wide front or a narrow front?
Check out allis chalmers . com

Thanks for the help now all i have to do is find a carb kit now wich is turning out to be a pain. after that i should be able to fire it up to see how far i have to go with the motor.

the tractor is a narrow front and yes it does have the rear spin out wheels i will try and post some pics soon.

Thanks again

You should be able to get a carb kit from an AGCO dealer. Bought one last fall for the B. What part of the country do you live?
