Does anyone have a good internal diagram/picture of the 6 cylinder D19 gas engine? The IT manual (older version) I have doesn't cover engine internals very well. What I need to determine is just how the distributor is driven. It stop spinning and I can see a gear split down in the hole. There appears to be (was) a gear with slots on top for the distributor. It is now split in half. Bottom of the distributor itself looks ok (two tabs) and turns freely. I figure I will have to drop the pan and go from there. Just want to see what I am getting into. I am guessing that gear drove the oil pump as well. If that be the case would that gear come on a new oil pump or would it have to be purchased separately? I am also guessing/hoping at this point the oil pump siezed/froze up and nothing else is bad. It was running just fine when parked and we tried to start it in zero degree weather when this happened. |
