first off it is for sure a Styled WC that has been reversed for loader duty. It was a very popular thing back in the day. Second for JR.Frye, what you are looking at is a predecessor to the skid steer loader. These tractor were reversed and had loaders installed mainly to be able to get into tight place for manure removal. Then when the skid steer loaders came about most of these tractors were moved to snow removal or some other duty.

It is without a doubt a styled WC. Has 28 inch rear wheels with cast centers, and the styled radiator. No, the transmission is not in backwards-I can see the shift pattern cast into it-and it is impossible to install it backwards- the ring/pinion is reversed to give 4 speeds in "reverse", and one "forward". Look on the rear side of the differential for a flat spot, about 2x5 inches. On it will say "Tractor No.". Below that WC_____ is the serial number of the tractor. The numbers you"re finding are casting numbers. Serial numbers are always stamped. It is a reversed loader setup- excellent traction with the loader mounted backwards, despite it being a messy job of creating it.

It's probably a "styled WC" I've seen some like it, only with more style, in Iowa didn't have to turn the transmission around, just put the ring gear on the other side of the pinion in the differental and you have 4 speeds the other way. The canning factories used to do that for pea mowers
