NE IA 11-16-2009 20:32:35 206.72.18.153 121234 Report to Moderator	I need one of these, and was wondering of options and better prices that may be out there. We haven't given up hope of finding the original one yet. I purchased the tractor in boxes from a local garage / shop. Now if you know me, my shop is in a mess 99% of the time. But this shop has been visited by cows walking in and out, knocking things over. This is even worse when the guys dogs decide to chase the cows out of the garage--they destroy things even faster than usual. I now can look at my shop and say that mine isn't the worst one I ever seen. I must mention that those cows are not potty trained either. Has anyone ever tried a altenator with a double pulley. One for powering the altenator, the other for powering the power steering pump. I have heard that the originals may have had that type of set up. Thanks for the leads everyone. [Reply]   [No Email]

Weld a stub shaft to the center of your pulley, machine it true, and instead of adding a lovejoy or sprocket coupler, add a pulley to the shaft. Use a keyway in the shaft or drill and tap through to the existing pulley. Much cheaper than the factory pulley, but would look almost like it. I think the factory pulley is 2-300? You would lose the ability to use the hand crank. To guarantee the ability to machine a true center, mount the existing pulley on a shaft, machine the OD true, then you can use that surface, chucked in the lathe, to true up the shaft after welding it on. I'm a thinkin I aught to go to the salvage yard with a high power rifle and make them boys realize they are doin bad things to those old tractors. But my probation officer said it would not be in my best intrest so I guess I will have to pass on dat idea. In reality I don't understand why they would not sell the mags, carbs etc for parts---their profits would sure be up. Even the angle iron, pipe etc. just seems unreal that they should waste so much good junk.   [Reply]   [No Email]

I certianly will do that if I have to, but I live only fifteen miles from a very large scrap iron place, and have seen more tractors in there than my ex-wife's attorney had papers for me.
