I pulled the head off of mine with the bent pushrod. #3 had 1" of dirt in it, #2 had 1/2" of rust flakes and dirt. The other two were clean. Manifold was full of rust flakes. Today I drained all three plugs in the rear end. What's the recommended fill, and how much does it take? Also, I was wondering if the brakes can be replaced without tearing apart the axle housings? I appreciate all you guys out there that help out the novices like me. Thanks again. |

| the brake pivot pins have a C clip on the inside next to the shoe. take the clip off before pounding on the pin. better than pounding is to use an air chisle with a pointed tool. soak with penetrant first..... universal hytrans is good, takes about 8 quarts with hydraulics. |

| The brakes must be replaced from the top. remove brake rods, seat, fender and side rails. then you must remove 2 pins that come in from the wheel side of the housing. there should be a hole on the inner side of the housing also. Use a drive punch to drive out pins from the inside to the outside. When you get that far, I'll tell you how to procede. Bob |

| I use hy-tran or universal hyd fluid in my C and have never had any problems. Don't remember how much it takes but if you buy 5 gal. of it you will have a lot left over. Well I was going to be lazy but said what the heck and looked in my book and it says 6 qt in the tran, hyd, rear end |
