I need to know the oil type recommeded for the engine on my "53 WD and how much it should hold. someone has put a WIX filter on it that seems to work fine. The manual I purchased does not have this information. |

| You probably bought the service/repair manual. That info is in the operator manual. |

| Any good motor oil that meets specs is just fine. I use 30W in almost all my engines. As for the Wix filter they are just fine as long as it is the correct type. I use Wix 57011 on my Allis tractors |

| I use 10w30 in mine because I will use it in winter and summer. My dad bought it new in 54 and it had straight 30wt most of its life, until 5 years ago when I cut it out of the fence row. Motor still does not use oil or smoke but she doesn't work near as hard as she used to. As to quantity I'm pretty sure its 6 quarts and I just installed a Wix filter also. |
