Add that most of those are not stamped real deep. If your tractor has had a thick coat of paint the paint may have very well filled it in and made those numbers unreadable. If by chance you have a tractor that the rearend housing was replaced it is possible that the dealer did not restamp the serial number on the new housing. Another way to approximate the year of munufacture is with the engine serial number which is located on the left side of the block behind the air cleaner hose.   [Reply]   [No Email]

That serial number should have a straight shifter. You might check the serial number on the block.
