Can anyone tell me if a D17 block is the same as a D19? I have been told they are, but I would Need to drill and tap a hole for the turbo oil return,also have been told d19 gas block is the same. Have I been given correct info? thanks for any help or info.John Morrison |

| thank you for your replies,I almost bought the wrong block, mine has the water pump mounted on the block.If any one has a good used block close to florida send me an email once again thanks for the replies John |

| The d19 gas and diesel share the same block. This block was used in the later d17 diesels also the early d17 diesels had the water pump on the head and the later ones where mounted to the front of the block. The d19 never had the water pump on the head. If you find a block that has the water pump mounting it probably will have the hole for the turbo oil drain plugged off our d19 gas is this way. |

| | From the parts book the D-19 diesel, D-17 Series IV diesel and the D-19 gas all use the same block. Part # 74514963. You can compare parts on the online parts book. |
