  • I REALLY LIKED THE DETAILED ARTICLE ON THE C. KEEPEM' UP. I HOPE YOU HAVE A CHANCE TO HIT ALL THE FRMALL/IH MODELS..EVEN THE MODERN ONES. THE SPEC'S AND OTHER DATA WERE ESPECIALLY APPRECIATED.

  • I have one question. Is it true then, that the special promotion white tractors would be in 47000+ #'s but no certain ones assigned to those particular ones?
Jeff W. wrote on Thursday, October 05, 2000 (PDT):
  • I'm glad you're doing this feature again. Thank you.
F Byers wrote on Tuesday, October 10, 2000 (PDT):
  • I've never seen that type of rear wheels on an IH tractor?
Paul Shuler wrote on Saturday, October 14, 2000 (PDT):
  • The wheels are the standard wheels for a C but someone had put on these huge wheel weights of about 300 lb.s each. About killed myself getting them off. They now are resting against dad's wood pile if someone can afford the postage I'll mail em to you.

  • This is a great feature of your mag. Glad you brought it back. Do you plan to have an archive for these. This would also be a good addition.

  • Great little article for newcomer to the world of vintage farmall tractors. My father-in-law has purchased a C to restore and enjoy and I am trying to learn more. This article makes a good starting point! Thank you.

  • Liked the article....lots of great facts and history. I've found a C model in fairly good shape, and was wondering how to determine it's value. Any info, as I'm fairly much a novice, would be appreciated. Thanks

  • How can a person tell if a tractor is a "c" or super "c"?
Garry wrote on Friday, October 25, 2002 (PDT):
  • Was reading your Farmall C Profile, and read where they produce or should I say painted the C white in 1950 would anyone happen to know how to tell which one where painted white what were the serial numbers or type code would be to tell the true white Demo from the others. I am new sort of to the large tractor`s and just wanted to find out thanks Garry

  • I have a Farmall C Serial # 51981 that is painted white. How do I know that it is the original? If anyone knows the answer to this, please email me. Thanks, Larry
Peter wrote on Monday, August 30, 2004 (PDT):
  • I enjoyed your article on the Farmall C. I have a 1950 model that we used on our Farm for many years. It was one of those white demonstrators that we bought from the dealer. We no longer have the Farm, but I am going to refurbish the tractor. Some folks have told me that the white paint job is really nothing special in terms of collector value. While I have no plans to sell the tractor, I want to do the right thing in terms of restoration. Just how important would it be for me to continue with the white paint scheme? Is there a special paint name or code for the white? Thanks.

  • I really appreciated the article on the Farmall "C". I cherish the one my grandfather bought in 1948. I know the "C" may not be rare but it is priceless as far as I am concerned. It was the first tractor I learned to drive. The thing I looked forward most to when getting the "C" restored to working order was the sound it made. I was afraid I would never hear that sound again. Thanks again for an informative article. How about an article on the IHC 806 as this is my next project.
Sharon Hiss wrote on Thursday, December 23, 2004 (PST):
  • I resently found papers where my grandfather purchsed a C Farmall Tractor in either 1948 or 49 and was wanting so additional info on it. Your sight was the information I was looking for. I have ran a copy of the bill of sale and your web pages to give to my father for Christmas this year. Thank you for suppling the information I have been looking for. I know my father will truly enjoy reading the material. A farmer in Great Bend, KS Sharon

  • Nice article. However, I personally have never seen a C or Super C with an H or M style frame. There are mounting pads on the bell housing & front bolster. Am I missing something?

  • Thanks for the wonderful article. I have a "C" that was my grandfathers. He bought it new in 1948. My 11 year old grandson and his dad will be driving it in our annual Maple Syrup Festival this year, pulling their clubs 4-H float.

  • Possible weight correction.-----As I remember, quoting directly from the super C operator's manual for a 1953 or 54 tractor which we owned, equipped with touch control and fast hitch, the weight was stated as 2600 pound's rear,980 front, without any wheel weighting. We had the tractor from 1955 to 2000.Checking a manual would verify that.I am fairly sure those figure's did not apply to maximum recommended weight which could be carried on either end.
